Pancake Breakfast History
In 2012, some ladies at Brushy Fork felt that there were some pressing needs in our community and they wanted to offer a helping hand. They put their heads together and came up with the idea that we should do a monthly community pancake breakfast fundraiser for people in need. They presented it to their Sunday school class and the members of the Sunday school class brought it to the pastors. The pastors thought it was a great idea and it was brought up in the next business meeting. That is how the Brushy Fork Baptist Church Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser was created. From April to October 2012, we provided a monthly breakfast, and we had a great time doing it. However, the volunteer force was pretty tired after October, so we decided to cut back and hold a bi-monthly breakfast. In the future, we may look to going back to a monthly breakfast if the volunteer force increases.
We are so thankful for the community support that has poured out on behalf of the people we have held breakfasts. We have rotated our support from these breakfasts to either a local need or a foreign mission need. We donate 100% of all the profits from each breakfast for the given need that month. We chose to do this on behalf of the community and we do not seek to take a profit from these breakfasts. We are just encouraged that God allows us to use our facilities and time to aid those who have suffered and are in need. We pray that the Lord blesses this ministry as we seek to share his love with those around us.
